This afternoon, C4 released a two part video of the build up to the big fight. In the first one, Rex is seen teasing Jen over her painting and laughing at what he’d done to it. We then see her reaction to what he did, including her comparing her effort to Monet. Angry that he’d messed with her work, she said, ‘Would you do that to Monet?‘ But there, would an original Monet be hanging on a ‘fridge in the BB house Jen? Someone needs an urgent ego deflation methinks.
In the video, we also see Dale skulking around putting dishes away while his girlfriend is being laughed at. At the end, he says ‘poor effort that’ to Rex. He’s a bit of a wimp is Dale isn’t he? Most men would probably have stood up for the object of their affections, but not Dale. In a previous row with Rex – when Rex overheard Dale making derogatory remarks about him – Dale showed what a lack of spherical objects he has, and he proved it again last night.
Even Rachel managed an admonition of sorts when she said, ‘Rex, did you really do that? Oh Rex!’
In the second one, we see Jen being comforted in the bedroom while Rex apologises. Dale finally stuck up for Jen – after Stu did and with a roomful of people to back him up – and insisted he’d say things to Rex’s face if he’s got anything to say. Rex asked why he didn’t the other day during their row, to which Dale had no answer.
According to The Sun, Mo said last night that if Dennis stays, he’ll leave the show. The paper states that ‘Mohamed told his room-mates: "If he stays I’ll walk, there’s no way I can stay with someone like that." And Rex reassured him: "There’s no way Dennis will stay."’
As it’s turned out, Rex was quite right. Dennis was removed from the house at around 1.15pm today for ‘unacceptable behaviour’. So, how is this going to affect the housemates? Time will tell. In the diary room, BB told Dennis,
‘Before you entered the house, you were made aware of the rules on unacceptable behaviour. Big Brother also told you in person that if you behaved aggressively towards another housemate, you would be removed from the house. Dennis, last night at 00.42, after an argument with several housemates in the luxury bedroom, you spat in Mohamed’s face. Dennis, do you remember the incident Big Brother is referring to?’
Hanging his head, Dennis replied, ‘Yes’.
‘Now you’ve had a chance to reflect, do you regret this incident?’ Big Brother asked.
‘I really regret this incident’ Dennis replied.
‘Big Brother is in no doubt that spitting in another housemate’s face is an act of aggression, and is therefore unacceptable behaviour’ Big Brother told him. ‘Big Brother is therefore left with no choice but to remove you from the Big Brother House. Do you have anything to say before you leave?’
‘I’m just really sorry’ Dennis said, looking tearful, ‘and I’m so disappointed in myself.’
And with that, Dennis exited the House…
All morning, BB had kept all the housemates locked in the bedrooms and didn’t even put the lights on until 1.10pm. There was no alarm today either. Mario spent the night in the dormitory room with Darnell, Mo and Rex who were all awake on and off from about 10am with the others in the luxury bedroom rousing around 12.45pm.
Mikey began to ramble on about his dream, which nobody except Lisa wanted to hear about. He does go on and on and on about the content of his dreams does Mikey, and to be honest, there are few things more tedious.
He was determined though and ended up just shouting the content of his dream so that the trapped housemates had no option but to listen. Sylvia said, ‘Mikey some people aren’t ar***‘. For once, I agree with her.
Dennis announced that when he was in the diary room last night, he had to insist they open the door fast so that he could go and be sick. They then began speculating on what time it was and most guessed it was about 10.30am.
Then, at 1.40pm, BB asked all the housemates to gather at the sofas. On their way, Mario told Mo and Rex to be sure they didn’t allow themselves to get drawn into any more arguments. Once assembled, housemates were shocked to learn the time as they all sat, stoney faced, the tension palpable, avoiding eye contact with each other. Dennis had been called to the diary room soon after BB put the lights on, and was presumed to be still in there when BB called a housemate to the diary room.
Mario went and came back with a laminate which read,
‘Dennis has been removed from the Big Brother House. As was made clear to all housemates, Big Brother will not tolerate unacceptable behaviour… Big Brother was left with no choice but to remove Dennis. In the course of today, Big Brother will be speaking to all housemates individually about last night’s events. Tonight’s eviction will take place as planned.’
‘Let’s hope justice is served eh?’ Jen shouted at Mo. ‘Let’s hope Mohamed goes’ she said, referring to the eviction.
Sylvia threw herself to the floor in tears and several other housemates also began to cry. Dale immediately began to shout at Mo and was acting aggressively when BB called him to the diary room. Mario assured Mo that he needn’t worry. ‘I’ve got your back’ he promised a worried Mo. Dale emerged from the diary room at 2.30pm and told Luke, Darnell and Rebecca that he’d been given an official warning for his behaviour towards Mo.
Darnell it seems got embroiled in the row last night too as he tried to defend Mo. It seems that he had to be restrained from getting more involved. Luke and Rebecca were talking about last night as they gathered Dennis’s things. Darnell said to them that he didn’t understand why everyone was so surprised that Dennis was removed.
‘Spittin’ in someone’s face is assault dude’ he told them. Rebecca then said, ‘I’ll tell you now Darnell, some people are saying that you should go. People were proper scared when you come stormin’ in last night… I was’ she added, as Luke said that Mikey had been intimidated too. Darnell replied that he understood that but he said, ‘words can be taken back dude, you can’t take back spit in someone’s face’.
A crying Jen then also confronted Darnell and said ‘I’ll tell you to your face Darnell, I think you should be out of this house. You were really intimidating last night’. Darnell tried to defend his actions by saying that Dale had just done the same thing he did. ‘Dale got up in Mohamed’s face so why aren’t you tellin’ him that?’
Dale, unbeknown to Darnell, had also earlier said that Mo’s crying over Dennis spitting at him showed he was a ‘fanny’ and a wimp. He’s obviously forgotten that last week, just before Stu arrived, he was sitting in the bathroom crying in case the public didn’t like him.
Darnell then said that although he was angry and may have come across as aggressive, he didn’t spit in anyone’s face. Jen wasn’t prepared to let it go though. She told Darnell that it was all Rex’s fault as he wouldn’t leave the room when asked. ‘Nor would Mohamed’ she said. Darnell then said ‘When I see a grown man in tears dude I’m not...’ but Jen interjected and insisted that Mo was not genuinely crying and that it had been an act for the cameras. Darnell then said that he finds Jennifer’s friends ‘filthy and vile’, which he said are her ‘favourite words’. He pointed out that the only people causing trouble in the house are the group that Jen has allied herself to.
Just before Darnell entered the room, Jen had told Sylvia that she couldn’t be bothered to dress up for tonight’s eviction. Sylvia said she understood and said, ‘my heart has literally been ripped out, literally’.
Outside, Bex was berating Rex and said he was to blame for everything that had happened. He replied that if she, Bex, hadn’t interfered, the row would never have escalated. He also told her that the row began not because he interfered with Jen’s painting but because she didn’t want Stu and Dale hanging around her. Bex got more angry and refused to listen to what he was saying. She stormed off shouting that Rex cannot blame this on her.
In the luxury bedroom, Mario was telling Lisa and Mikey that Mo, who was in tears at the time, had been afraid that Stu was about to hit him. ‘If Bex hadn’t jumped in… well.‘ Mario said, leaving the rest unspoken. Back in the luxury bedroom, the row between Jen and Darnell rumbled on but the sound was dipped.
At 3.15pm, Stu, Jen and Dale confronted Mo about his behaviour towards Rebecca last night. They accused Mo of shouting in Rebecca’s face and Stu said that was why he’d intervened and got so angry. ‘Shouting in a woman’s face is aggressive’ he told Mo. Jen then accused Mo of pretending to be upset to make everything worse. It was ended when BB called an angry Jen into the diary room. On her way she said, ‘If I don’t come back, I love you’ to Luke and Sylvia.
Sylvia and Rebecca then went to share a bath together and happily dug into the hamper of toiletries that BB gave them yesterday. They laughed and joked in the bath as they prepared for tonight’s eviction. Didn’t take either of them long to get over Dennis going did it? Especially Sylvia, who claimed her heart had been ‘ripped out’… that would be on the assumption that she has one. I doubt it personally.
At 3.40pm, Jen emerged from the diary room and went to speak to Mo in the dormitory bedroom. She said to him that she’d been in situations where women were threatened before and that was why she became uncomfortable. Mo then said that, ‘Obviously, Rebecca jumped in and I said to her "shut up Rebecca" because I was talking to Stuart. Then Dale jumped in and called me a coward. I’m not a coward… I did not threaten Rebecca. I did not.’ He went on to say that he thought Dennis had a grudge against him because of their earlier row when Dennis accused him of being homophobic.
Jen said that her remark about hoping that Mo got evicted wasn’t intended to be aggressive. She then also said that although she thinks what Dennis did was disgusting, and she wasn’t trying to excuse him, he was ‘that pent up with emotion, he just did whatever came natural’. Mo replied, ‘Even so, if he’d done it to Darnell… I didn’t react like that.’
She then said, ‘I’m just upset that Dennis has gone.’ She added, ‘I think Darnell’s behaviour was out of order. I thought he should be removed too’. Mo then reminded her about Dale’s behaviour earlier. ‘When I asked Dale not to touch me, he said, "You’ll know about it if I want to touch you", so that’s no worse than what Darnell did’.
Dale then came in and told Mo and Jen that he wasn’t going to do anything that would jeopardise his place in the show. Jen then said that she hoped everyone could now get over this and move on. She and Mo then hugged and Jen walked out of the room saying she was going for a shower.
We then got a shot of Sylvia shaving her upper lip while Luke yet again bitched about Rachel not having ‘any opinions’. Put a new wecord on Luke, that one is so last week…
As I leave the housemates, Jen and Sylvia have just packed Dennis’s case and returned it to the store room. Luke and Dale are having a gossip on the sofa and Rex and Kat are cooking. I’ll be here blogging live through the eviction shows tonight at 9pm and again at 10.35pm. Will we get new housemates tonight I wonder?!
Thank you all for your comments and messages in reaction to Dennis’s removal from the house. Who’d have thought all this would have happened by Day 23! And some people tried to say BB was ‘over’. Don’t think so! That said, my stint on here as BB blogger nearly is. I’m happy to tell you that Selena will be back from her maternity leave on July 1st, so although I’ll be sorry to not be joining you all here blogging, I’ll still be visiting all the time to read what’s going on, and I know lots of you have missed Selena. Her baby boy is beautiful by the way!

The most annoying thing about the house is the double standards! If it had been Stu or Dennis who had smudged her, er…"Monet", it would have been the funniest thing ever. But because it was Rex, Jen used the incident as an excuse to manipulate the other housemates and once she saw the alpha males starting to puff out their chests and defend her, she continued to milk it for all it was worth. She is a real madam – I just hope the housemates open their eyes after this, they\’ve got it all wrong, Rex ain\’t the snake in the grass…

well it is in a way. the kid is not old enough to know the difference between if shes comin back or not, like kids realise the difference between that when they start nursery or school, when the parent goes away some kids get upset until they realise they come back, and get used to it. her kid doesnet know that difference yet, especially as shes away for so long

Funny, just when Mario is starting to drive me crazy with the arrogance, he goes and does something that makes me kind of like him again. I think he\’s a pretty decent guy, actually. Totally up his own a**, but he\’s got a good heart, and enough courage to stick up for what he thinks is right, even when it means going against the crowd. (And yes, it takes courage, even when you have all those muscles – words can hurt as much as anything physical.)

I didn\’t think Darnell was at all intimidating. He was angry, and he yelled, but he wasn\’t in anyone\’s face – I don\’t think he was even near to anyone until Stu came over to him. I liked seeing him stand up for Mo, actually – if there\’s one thing that I haven\’t liked about Darnell, it\’s the way he always tries to please everyone, and sometimes goes along with things he doesn\’t agree with because he\’s so desperate to have friends. I can understand why he does that, because I can see how lacking in self-esteem he is, but it\’s still really nice to see him sticking his neck out for once.
Jen has to go. What a child. It scares me that she has a kid of her own.
Does anyone else miss BB Celeb Hijack? Teenagers get so much sh*t from the general public, and always get accused of bad behaviour, but the teens on that show were the best behaved of any of the BB housemates.
